Dell Latitude 14-7404 is a rugged business laptop with Intel Core (Haswell) ULV processors. This notebook has been tested using MIL-STD-810G testing such as transit drop, operating drop, blowing rain, blowing snow, solar radiation and other kinds of testing to make sure that it's durable enough. It's awarded with some certifications such as IP-65 certified for water and dust resistant, ANSI/ISA.12.12.01, as well as MIL-STD-461F. Magnesium alloy backbone and shock-absorbent ultra-polymer materials make this laptop survives against serious punishment. It ill stay cool in heated situations thanks to the fourth-generation QuadCool thermal management.
For processor, Latitude 7404 has either Intel Core i3-4010U or Core i5-4300U on Mobile Intel Lynx chipset. It's packed with up to 512 GB Solid State Drive and 4 GB or 8 GB 1600MHz DDR3L system memory. This Dell rugged laptop is equipped with a 14.0” HD Direct-View outdoor-readable display which reduce reflections for better outdoor visibilty. It uses resistive touchscreen technology, not capacitive like most new devices. Resistive is choosen because iths higher resistance to dust and water compared to capacitive.
Switch to keyboard, it comes standard with customizable RGB backlit keyboard or you may choose optional rubberized one. The touchpad is resistive too and supports gloved-input but only single-point. Dell also offers optional SiRFstarV dedicated GPS and Dell Wireless 5570E single-mode HSPA+ with A-GPS. FHD video webcam with privacy shutter is an optional feature that enables you have video chat. Privacy shutter enables users to get security and privacy from a video stream. There are some battery choices; 6-cell 65 Whr or 9-cell 97 Whr Li-ion, 6-cell 58 Whr or 9-cell 87 Whr long long life cycle with 3-year warranty.
Because security is very important for a business laptop, some additonal features are also added such as contactless SmartCard reader, ControlVault advanced authentication, NIST SP800-147 secure platform, Dell Data Protection (Encryption, Security Tools, Protected Workspace), and optional fingeprint. Steel-reinforced cable lock slot is stronger than standard lock slot on most laptops.
