Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 2 is a business Ultrabook, the successor of first geneartion ThinkPad X1. It's the world's lightest (2.9 pounds) 14-inch Ultrabook for ulimate mobility. The body is made of durable carbon fiber with lay-flat hinge design, new dust-resitant design with thinner fan. No need to worry about durability as it has been tested with military specifications. It comes with a 14-inch ColorBurst display in HD+ or WQHD with optional 10-point multitouch. The new ThinkPad is powered by up to 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor, integrted HD Graphics 4400 or 5000 depends on processor type. An SSD is included with capacity up to 512GB. Maximum system memory is 8GB.


The adaptive keyboard can change function keys row based on apps you're currently used. Available ports include two USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5mm combo headphone/mic jack, an HDMI port, a native Ethernet via supplied cable, a mini DisplayPort, and a OneLink Docking to connect with external dock. Latest connectivity features are on this notebook - Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 802.11ac WLAN, and 4G + LTE WWAN. Dragon 1.5 voice control can execute simple commands. Gesture control is supported too. Maximum battery life is nine hours. Rapid Charge technology charges first 80% within 50 minutes. As a business Ultrabook, it's not surprising that X1 carbon offers business-class security. Use biometrics for login with optional fingerprint reader. TPM encrypts sensitive information, also added with Intel security features and vPro options for better protection and manageability.

  2. anyone know how to get HDMI port on the X1-G2 to interface with the DisplayPort on a HP LA2306x monitor to drive it? I have the right cable, but no luck in getting it to work.
