Apple Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks has been announced officially as the successor of Mountain Lion.
Not all Macs will get the update. As it requires Mac App Store to download Mavericks, you should run at least on Mac OS X 10.6.7 Snow Leopard or later, that's below Mountain Lion which needs Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Like Mountain Lion, Macs that support Mavericks are 64-bit Intel-based Macs.
